The Thomas Cubitt

The Thomas Cubitt is eloquently split over two floors: with the ground offering a traditional pub vibe and the first-floor a more intimate, formal dining experience.

The pub truly offers the best of both worlds, with punters enjoying free-flowing pints downstairs while daters, business meetings and family dinners can be hosted above ground level.

The menu reflects the picturesque setting with specials such as “market fish of the day” adding a nice touch. We highly recommend the delmonico rib eye, cooked to perfection at the grade of your choice.

The Marquis of Westminster

The pub scene in Victoria is largely an indoor affair, but the small and stylish terrace at the Marquis of Westminster is something to cherish on warmer days.

It’s a real sun trap, ideally located so you can enjoy a cold, crisp pint in the afternoon all the way through to sunset.

It’s also a surprisingly ideal spot to enjoy live sport, with HD screens and a gastropub menu which includes delicious roasts on a Sunday.

Have to try: Sunday roast & live sport
Perfect for: Sunny afternoons
Approx price for 2 people: £70

Slightly further afield, The Orange is a 15 minute walk from Victoria station, located en route to Sloane Square.

A sister pub of The Thomas Cubitt, The Orange has a dazzling wine menu and doubles up as a hotel for any London-goers in need of a longer stay.

A slightly more sophisticated clientele can be expected and there’s also a fantastic downstairs cellar which can be rented out for birthdays and special occasions.

The Phoenix

Another two-story pleasure, The Phoenix is one of Victoria’s more modern pubs but still offers punters plenty of delicious ales to choose from.

The first floor in particular is bursting with colour and as such offers a satisfying backdrop to impress your date.

It’s well worth a stop in, especially ahead of a trip to the theatre. Both Hamilton and Wicked are well-known performances in the area which we highly recommend too!

The Shakespeare

If you’re in the Victoria area, you can’t miss The Shakespeare.

This is everything we love about a pub – a HUGE full English breakfast, delicious fish & chips and a large venue where it’s always easy to grab a table.

Swing by if you have an hour to spare before your commute, it’s the perfect spot to grab a pint and ensure you’ll never be late for your train.

Greenwood Pub & Kitchen

Sports fans living in London should know this one. Directly opposite Victoria station, this sports pub/bar has too many screens to count. It’s a great place to watch sport, especially a solid option when big fixtures are on like the World Cup of Six Nations.

The food isn’t bad either, think burgers and chicken wings, pub grub, but pretty decent pub grub. Greenwood is on two floors so there’s plenty of space and different bars to grab a quick drink. It’s also a popular jaunt for a quick afterwork drink as it’s so close to the station.

Have to try: Watching a big fixture here
Perfect for: Sports fans

The Victoria

Affectionately known as “The Vic” – The Victoria is the most popular pub in the area for the nearby workers.

Offices of Victoria descend on this spot to round off their day and it’s easy to see why – fairly priced pints, a nice range of snacks and a large area out the front to enjoy a street-side tipple.

Inside, the pub is decorated to pay homage to Queen Victoria’s family. Every decoration shows royalty!

Have to try: Post-work pints
Perfect for: A quick drink
Approx price for 2 people: £20

A little bit of a curve ball, but we couldn’t conclude this list without paying tribute to Boisdale.

One for the whisky-lovers, Boisdale gives you a Scottish experience with a cigar terrace, whisky bars and live jazz music every night.
