The Best Restaurants in Camden

restaurants in camden

Camden is a firm favourite with both tourists and locals, best known for its buzzing food market—but here we provide a list of the top restaurants to kick back and relax.

This part of London thrives on vibrancy, energy, and a dash of unpredictability (if you know, you know), and its restaurants reflect exactly that. From traditional British spots serving pure comfort to lively venues that keep the night going. There’s honestly something here for every mood.

Of course, the food market is a must-see, but overstimulating doesn’t even begin to describe it. Here we skip the chaos and spotlight places that promise good vibes, great food, and just the right amount of Camden-style excitement.

Andy's Taverna

Andy’s Taverna oozes pure Greek vibes with its blue-and-white décor and buzzy atmosphere. We knew the moment we stepped inside that we were in for a proper, authentic experience.

They’ve nailed everything people love about Greek food and made sure the menu ticks every box—which we love, because there’s nothing worse than getting excited for a dish only to find it missing. We started with a spanakopita (always a must). Filo pastry stuffed with spinach and feta—so good that we burn our mouths every time but never learn. To cool things down, we ordered tzatziki and hummus—non-negotiables, obviously.

While the classics like souvlaki and grilled meats are all there, we decided to try something from the “Andy’s Favourites” menu: the kleftiko. This was an ultra-tender leg of lamb cooked in a rich tomato sauce and served with roast potatoes and veg. Think of it as a Greek twist on a Sunday roast—packed with way more flavour.

Have to try: Spanakopita (feta and spinach pastry)
Perfect for: Family meal out
Approx price for 2: £60–£70

Ma Petite Jamaica

Ma Petite Jamaica channels all of Camden’s vibrancy straight into its colourful, beachy interiors—bright chairs, bold patterns, and full-on Caribbean holiday energy.

Being a Jamaican spot, skipping a rum-based cocktail would be a crime. We kicked things off with the Port Royal Rum Punch, a punchy mix of rum, orange, guava, and pineapple juice. One more of those and we’d have been booking flights—seriously strong, seriously good.

Every starter looked tempting, but we landed on the lobster and crayfish mac and cheese bites with a red pepper coulis. Decadence in a single bite. For mains, jerk chicken was non-negotiable, but we went burger-style and it was next-level. It had buttery buns slathered in garlicky mayo that deserves its own fan club. To finish, we cooled down with the baked mango cheesecake, topped with dreamy piña colada cream. Honestly, we could have eaten a bowl of just that.

Have to try: Lobster and crayfish mac and cheese bites
Perfect for: Fun with friends
Approx price for 2: £55–£65 including cocktails

Namaaste Kitchen

Namaaste Kitchen is a modern Indian restaurant with multiple awards under its belt—and it shows. We love how they put fresh twists on classic dishes, filling the menu with exciting bites we’d never tried before. Normally we’re total creatures of habit (same curry, every time), but this visit was all about branching out.

For starters, we kicked things off with the Indo-Chinese chilli chicken—a mash-up of our two favourite cuisines. Think crisp, slightly sweet Chinese flavours layered with that signature Indian heat. Another standout was the tandoori green prawns: jumbo prawns marinated in chilli, mint, and coriander, perfectly tender and full of flavour.

When it came to mains, we had to order a butter chicken—but this version was next level. The sauce was rich and nutty from cashews, while the smoked chicken added a subtle, delicious depth. Naturally, we mopped up every drop with a fluffy garlic naan.

Stuffed but not quite finished, we opted for a “dessert” in cocktail form: the Talking Money. It was a decadent mix of chocolate vodka, banana liqueur, Kahlúa, and cream. Sweet, boozy perfection.

Have to try: Indo-Chinese chilli chicken
Perfect for: Catch up with friends
Approx price for 2: £60–£70

Roger's Kitchen

Roger’s Kitchen is an elegant, refined take on Caribbean dining. Usually our Caribbean spots bring vibrant, high-energy chaos (in the best way), but here everything is stripped back—and we loved it. The minimalist setting puts all the focus on those deep, authentic flavours.

We kicked things off with the plantain and sweet potato fritters. If plantain’s on the menu, we’re ordering it—no question. Served with a sweet chilli sauce, we made sure not a single drop was left.

Seafood lovers, the Roger’s Kitchen seafood platter is a must. It’s loaded with sea bass, sea bream, scallops, prawns, and fried cassava—everything perfectly fresh and full of flavour, with no skimping anywhere.

To end on a tropical note, we went for the banana and mango crème brûlée. An exotic twist on a classic, it had us dreaming of a beach somewhere in the Caribbean.

Have to try: Mango and banana crème brûlée
Perfect for: Special occasions
Approx price for 2: £65–£75, including drinks

Daphne

Daphne is elegant without ever feeling pretentious—and that’s exactly why we loved it. Yes, there are white tablecloths and candlelit tables, but it still keeps that warm, homely feel.

We started with the hellim: perfectly grilled halloumi served over seasoned fresh tomatoes with a basil sauce that tied it all together. We were seriously tempted by the börek (filo pastry stuffed with feta and herbs) but worried about a cheese overload. In hindsight, we should’ve gone for it—can there ever really be too much cheese?

For mains, we chose the chicken shish kebab, served with homemade chips and a crisp side salad. The chicken was marinated and grilled to perfection—zero complaints. We wrapped it all up with a slice of their homemade baklava, buttery and sweet in all the right ways.

We also spotted their Turkish Theme Night: a £25-per-person set menu with a belly-dancing show. We’re already planning a return trip for that one.

Have to try: Turkish themed night
Perfect for: Fun with friends
Approx price for 2: £50–£60, including drinks

Purezza

Purezza is a low-key, wholesome spot that’s perfect for casual catch-ups with friends—or for when that craving for top-quality pizza suddenly hits. And we all know that feeling.

We kicked things off with the garlic sourdough topped with camembert, rosemary, and a drizzle of agave for an irresistible touch of sweetness. We also recommend the courgette spaghetti with basil pesto—super light and fresh yet packed with flavour. A great option if you’re trying to keep the starters carb-light. Though, let’s be honest, we’re bread fiends and were never skipping that garlic bread.

All their pizzas are 48-hour fermented sourdough, giving them unbeatable flavour and a perfectly tender texture. We chose the pepperoni and hot agave pizza, still obsessed with that agave magic from the garlic bread. It was loaded with pepperoni and finished with a sweet-heat agave drizzle. Pure melt-in-the-mouth heaven, none of that jaw-breaking chew you sometimes get with sourdough.

To wrap up our carb feast, we shared the Nutella-stuffed dough balls: little bites of pure bliss.

Have to try: Pepperoni and agave pizza
Perfect for: Casual lunch out
Approx price for 2: £45–£55, including drinks

O Tino

O Tino is a homely, cosy Portuguese spot that doesn’t try too hard—and sometimes that’s exactly what’s needed. The menu is wonderfully authentic, full of dishes we’d never even heard of. Honestly, our Portuguese knowledge barely went beyond Nando’s (shameful, we know), but after eating here we can confirm Nando’s hardly counts as Portuguese. There’s so much more to discover.

We kicked things off with pastel de bacalhau, crispy codfish cakes with a creamy center that paired perfectly with the sangria we ordered. Then came the glorious mains: a grilled rump steak served with black beans, grilled chouriço, and pineapple. We thought the pineapple sounded random at first, but grilled, it added the perfect smoky sweetness to balance the rich flavors of the meal.

Dessert was impossible to narrow down—so we didn’t. We shared a classic pastel de nata, simple and light, and also the true star of the night: their rice pudding. Warm, gently spiced with cinnamon and brightened with a hint of lemon zest, it was pure comfort in a bowl.

Have to try: Portuguese rice pudding
Perfect for: Family meal out
Approx price for 2: £50–£65

Acuarela

Come to Acuarela for no-fuss, homely, authentic Mexican food. It’s quick and casual, but don’t mistake that for bland—quite the opposite. They know exactly what they’re doing, and they do it fast.

We started with the nachos, because who can resist? They come fully loaded with refried black beans, cheese, sour cream, and jalapeños. They give the option to add meat, but honestly it doesn’t need it. Keep it simple and save the meat for the mains.

Choosing a main was tough—it’s always a toss-up between tacos and quesadillas—but we went for the taco rosa. Think slow-cooked pulled pork (eight hours!) marinated in fresh orange and lemon juice with mild habanero chilli and achiote paste. The flavors were sensational, and that pork was so succulent we’re drooling just writing about it.

To finish, we took a chance on the tequila dessert—a tangy lime cake topped with tequila custard and a sprinkle of salt. Sounds intimidating, we know, but it works. Trust us.

Have to try: Taco rosa (slow cooked pork tacos)
Perfect for: Catch up with friends
Approx price for 2: £35–£45

Seto

Seto is a casual, unassuming Japanese restaurant tucked away on Plender Street. We kicked things off with the spinach in sesame dressing. Normally, we’d never order something leafy at a restaurant—it can feel like a waste—except at Asian spots. They just know how to season and cook greens to perfection, with insane texture and flavor.

Next up, the must-have prawn tempura, because when do these ever disappoint? Light, crisp, and perfectly golden.

Finding a good ramen spot in London is no easy feat, but we feel like we struck gold here. The chashu pork ramen in a rich miso broth came loaded with bamboo shoots, spring onions, and mangetout, each ingredient soaking up that incredible soup. Authentic, comforting, and absolutely satisfying.

Have to try: Ramen
Perfect for: Casual lunch
Approx price for 2: £20–£40

Chin Chin Labs

Chin Chin isn’t technically a restaurant—this one’s for the sweet treat lovers out there. But trust us, the satisfaction here absolutely rivals a sit-down meal.

They’re an ice cream shop that has completely taken social media by storm. Sure, we followed the trend like everyone else, but honestly, it’s moments like this we thank the gods of Instagram for introducing us to this gem. Unlike most ice cream spots with a billion artificial flavours and scary colours, Chin Chin keeps it simple. They have just a handful of options—and they nail every single one. Our favourite? The hazelnut praline. Creamy, nutty, perfect.

They also do desserts like ice cream sandwiches and sundaes. In summer, the banana bread toast with honey butter ice cream is a dream, while in autumn, the sticky toffee pudding is next-level indulgence. Pair any of these with a tea or a not-too-sweet coffee—our pick is an Americano, the perfect balance.

Have to try: Hazelnut praline ice cream
Perfect for: Sweet treat lovers
Approx price for 2: £15–£20
