The Best Hotels in Mayfair

Now, this area is all about luxury and living that celebrity lifestyle, so it goes without saying that you’ll find some of the best hotels in Mayfair.

For anyone who thinks a hotel is “just a bed and a bathroom,” think again. The hotels here offer the full package — your stay is an experience in itself. Even if you’re a London local, you might find yourself booking a mini-vacation just to enjoy the restaurants, bars, and top-tier service under one roof.

If you need to feel like royalty for a few days (and let’s face it, who doesn’t?), check out our top 10 picks. The only downside? You probably won’t want to leave.

The Connaught

An absolute winner for us. The Connaught strikes the perfect balance of everything you want from a London hotel. Too often, hotels lean heavily into either a traditional or an overly modern vibe, but here they hit the jackpot. The architecture captures classic English tradition, while the interiors feel modern and open. No claustrophobic layouts here.

A must-see is the award-winning bar, and it truly deserves it. Pure luxury and royalty. They also have an incredibly creative cocktail menu. Case in point: the BRB cocktail — tequila, mezcal, melon liqueur, melon water, and paprika seeds. The faint burn from the paprika paired with fresh melon was fascinating. Pair it with one of their canapés, our favourite was the goat’s cheese, jam, and basil crostini.

With a massive range of rooms and suites, it’s perfect for romantic getaways or even larger, luxury group stays.

Have to try: Vintage cocktails at the bar
Perfect for: Romantic getaways
Approx price for 2: £550–£700 per night (depending on room type and season)

The Biltmore

The Biltmore is located in such a convenient area of Mayfair and is another one that is certainly easy on the eyes.

The hotel has a range of restaurants, but our favourite has to be the Café Bistro. They describe it as casual — and compared to the rest of the hotel, it certainly is. But trust us, refinement is at its absolute peak. Be sure to try the Ember Terrace Menu.

We loved this spot because, with luxury hotels, you often expect classic British dishes (which we enjoy, of course), but let’s be honest — a pub usually does it best. Here, however, they serve Mediterranean- and Middle Eastern-inspired cuisine. We went for the chicken shish. It was charcoal-grilled to perfection and came with a side of flatbread. Honestly, the perfect summer meal.

For those who like to stay active on holidays, don’t miss their gym. It’s not some overlooked box room like in most hotels. It’s fully equipped and a great space to let loose.

Claridge's

Claridge’s satisfies every real-life dollhouse fantasy you had as a kid. The interiors are dainty and wholesome, yet still utterly extravagant.

They’re most famous for their afternoon tea, and staying in London without experiencing it would be almost criminal. The setting sells it completely. It’s located in the foyer and reading room, with extravagant chandeliers hanging above, feels pure royalty. The smoked salmon sandwich was heavenly, made with the freshest ingredients and putting Tesco meal deals to absolute shame.

Another must-visit is the Claridge’s x Dante collaboration restaurant. The Fluffy Margarita Royale cocktail — essentially a spicy pineapple margarita — was gorgeous. For mains, the Pappardelle al Ragu featuring slow-cooked, succulent, flavour-packed pork was unforgettable.

The Mandarin Oriental

The Mandarin Oriental is all about capturing London’s elegance with a modern, fashion-forward vibe. Stylish doesn’t even begin to cover it, and the rooms really show this off. We stayed in the deluxe room, and wow — it was incredible. They balance a homely feel with patterned wallpapers and carpets, while still keeping the luxurious gold-and-black theme throughout, not to mention the marble bathroom. Honestly, we could have slept there forever.

The spa was another highlight, giving off intergalactic vibes that make you forget all about the chaos of London life. We tried the Digital Wellness Escape treatment (yes, ironic given what you’re reading this on and what we’re typing on), and it was a truly immersive experience. They focus on the eyes, shoulders, hands, and feet — you can literally feel all the tension leaving your body.

Fleming's

Fleming’s is another hotel that perfectly balances Georgian English elegance with a touch of modern art-inspired décor. We stayed in the double deluxe room, and honestly, you couldn’t ask for much more. That mattress will sort out any back pain you have — no exaggeration.

Dining at their Ormer Restaurant (Michelin-starred, of course) is an absolute must. Ever had Moroccan and Irish fusion? Didn’t think so. If there’s ever a place to try it, it’s here. We went for the five-course tasting menu, and the standout was the spiced lamb and prune beignet. Herby, smoky, and so good you’re silent while eating. They even offer vegetarian, vegan, and pescatarian options, which is fantastic.

After dinner, we headed to Manetta’s Bar. The signature cocktails are inspired by artwork, which is incredibly creative. The best? Definitely the ‘Atypical Christie’ — dark rum, pineapple, cinnamon, and orange bitters. Spiced yet sweet, it hits all the right notes.

The JW Marriott Grosvenor House

We’ve all heard of the Marriott, and sure, most of us have had our fair share of stays with them. But the one on Park Lane truly pulls out all the stops. Let’s just start with the fact that they’ve got a whole ballroom. Yep — red carpet entrance and the works. As if that wasn’t extravagant enough, they also have something called “The Great Room”, and they really meant it literally. This space has hosted actual royalty, presidents, and actors. Sit there, and it’s about as close as you’ll get to feeling like you’ve been invited to the Oscars.

Breakfast was a huge win for us at JW Steakhouse. The name might feel a little off-putting in the morning, but trust us, the food is anything but. The “Pearfection” juice (pear, apple, cucumber, mint, parsley — scary but you can’t taste it — and lime) practically cleanses your soul in six sips. And while we tried to stay sophisticated, we couldn’t resist the sweet breakfast option. The waffles were dreamy — cinnamon apple, chocolate dulce de leche, cream, and chopped hazelnuts for crunch. Honestly, we need them again right now.

The Mayfair Townhouse

The Mayfair Townhouse fully optimises mellow, sleek, and sophisticated elegance. Its got black tones and low-lit interiors — pure understated luxury. We stayed in the classic room, where the main wall is literally black. Normally, we’d hate that, but here it somehow worked, adding to the chic, modern vibe.

One of the most creative touches (and something we loved) was their organised picnics in the park. We chose the Mayfair Picnic, but you can also pick Green Park or St James’s, starting from £50 per person. You get a selection of sandwiches, desserts, and half a bottle of champagne. Our favourite bites were the caramelised red onion on toasted pitta and the lemon and blueberry muffins. Honestly, what can beat a picnic where you don’t have to deal with any of the faff? You just turn up, and it’s all ready.

The Twenty Two

Be prepared for Taylor Swift lyrics to be stuck in your head when you hear the name The Twenty Two. But don’t worry, that’s not the vibe here at all. Inside, it’s all elegant, refined luxury: checkered floors, ebony stairwells, and extravagant chandeliers set the tone.

The restaurant serves Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, probably the most universally friendly style — and they do it exceptionally well. We started with the grilled tiger prawns, marinated in smoky paprika and garlic butter. They disappeared far too quickly. For mains, yes, all the fancy grilled meats looked revolutionary, but when pasta is on the menu, how do you resist? No regrets — we went for their famous pasta al limone. Fresh yet decadent, it was perfect.

The bar deserves a mention too, with creative cocktails and an impressive wine list. A top recommendation: the Mango Mingle cocktail. This had vodka, homemade mango cordial, rhubarb bitters, and ginger ale. Everything about it worked flawlessly.

COMO Metropolitan

The COMO Metropolitan keeps its interiors super bright, vibrant, and modern — perfectly capturing the bustle right outside. We stayed in their Metropolitan Room, which comes with a king-sized bed (or two twins if you prefer). The real selling point? The spectacular city views, which make it absolutely worth the upgrade over the standard deluxe.

One thing we loved here is the variety of experiences on offer. After a few hectic days in the city, we thought a yoga class in Hyde Park would be the perfect reset — and it was. You get a 60-minute guided session with a professional plus a special breakfast included. Relaxing, though we felt the price was a little steep given you could technically follow along with YouTube.

On the other hand, the sushi masterclass was totally worth it. It includes a glass of champagne, the hands-on lesson, a four-course tasting menu, and even a Nobu gift bag. Fun, interactive, and something you’ll actually take home to your own kitchen.

1 Hotel Mayfair

A stay at 1 Hotel Mayfair feels truly unique. Their interiors break away from the norm — more naturalistic, yet still sleek and modern. And while we all know London water isn’t the cleanest (and our skin definitely pays the price), the Bamford Spa has you covered. We tried the Detoxifying Bamford Signature Express Facial, which deeply cleanses your skin using top-quality products. The result? Brighter, baby-soft skin. Basically the dream.

We also loved Neighbour’s Café, which gives total LA health-queen vibes. It’s the perfect spot for a quick, light bite — a refreshing change in a city where meals are usually decadent, heavy, and portion sizes practically dare you to finish them. Our favourite was the salmon, avocado, and cream cheese muffin. And if you’re craving something sweet, don’t leave without trying the almond croissant. They’re buttery, flaky, and perfectly fresh.
